It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, the city was buzzing and it was a perfect day for the incredibly special wedding of Scott and Lauri.
Believe me when I say that I couldn't have been more excited to go to "work" that day. After having a breathtaking e-session with them almost a year ago to the date, and then heading out again just for fun to shoot them in the fall, it's no secret that I love how they love each other!
On June 13th, in their penthouse suite at the Omni hotel, the anticipation and joy that filled the room was infectious. A few finishing touches here, a few more curls there and a very well-trained flower girl who knew just how to fasten Lauri into her dress later, and this beautiful bride was ready for the moment that most women dream of. There's no exaggeration when I say that when Scott laid eyes on his girl for the first time, we were all undone.
After a few portraits in and around Old City, we settled in to the Curtis Center for the remainder of our time together. From the small key that was kept by Scott since the beginning of their union, the tearful first-look, the cascading crystal chandeliers, the exchange of their custom vows, the emotional toasts, the father-daughter dance that branched out to include all of Lauri's nieces and nephews and everything in between, it was clear just how much time and effort went into crafting this day to reflect exactly who they are and who they want to be in their new life from this point forward. Playful, kind, genuine, personal and full of love.
